Volunteer Spotlight – Frank the Tank

Volunteer Spotlight – Frank the Tank

What’s up, my dudes?! My name is Frankie and I’ve been volunteering at MHBC for about a year. I started getting into craft beers around the same time I moved to Fort Worth a few years ago.

My friends and I would go to any brewery in the DFW area to get as many different beers as we could, but for me MHBC always stood out. Eventually the only beers I would have stocked in my fridge were River House (RIP) and the Salty Lady. I was at the 3 year anniversary party when I finally decided I wanted to help my favorite brewery in any way I could. That same night I e-mailed MHBC and before I knew it I was working tours and big events and haven’t looked back since.

One of the best things about volunteering here (besides the beer) are the people and the atmosphere. When I first started I was a little nervous since I didn’t know anyone there, but the volunteers and employees at MHBC are some of the most genuine and awesome people I’ve met. If you’re reading this and you’ve ever thought about volunteering but weren’t sure about it just make the leap!

I’m usually volunteering at the tours as much as I can so come say hi, share a beer and assist me in coming up with mildly funny jokes and puns.

Volunteer Spotlight – Episode 3 Jeffery Sailer

Volunteer Spotlight – Episode 3 Jeffery Sailer

My name is Jeffery “Popeye” Sailer, an avid cyclist from Carrolton. How did I find the Mecca of craft beer? I was involved in a group of cyclists that starting riding bikes to the new craft breweries popping up in DFW. Mainly in Dallas, then one Saturday we did a double barrel tour in Fort Worth. We started with lunch at Angelo’s BBQ, then rode to Rahr and then to Martin House. When I first walked into MHBC I knew I was home. You see I grew up in southwest Fort Worth and standing at that back door with a glass of Imperial Texan and that skyline that is all I needed to be hooked on MHBC. I also have confession to make I am a Volunteer Addict. I volunteer for everything from Boy Scouts, Concessions for HS band to all of the Beer Festivals. So what did it take for me to start volunteering at MHBC? Not that difficult, just went up front and asked Asa, who ran the tours at that time, if I could volunteer. I told him I loved craft beer and was a professional volunteer. That is all it took, been coming back ever since. After having attended most of the Brewery tours I can tell you MHBC is still the best tour around. I am not a young pup like most in craft beer, but MHBC makes me feel young again, so to Chelsea and the great crew at MHBC thank you for taking me in. So next time you are in Funky town come on by and tell me how great my...
Volunteer Spotlight – Episode 2 – JAK and Karla

Volunteer Spotlight – Episode 2 – JAK and Karla

Can you believe you have seen our smiling faces at almost every tour for the last 18 months? Might as well get a little closer to us, we aren’t going anywhere…we’ve already probably shared a beer or two with you. We are Jak and Karla veteran volunteers here at Martin House Brewing Company , our happiest place on earth.  We have been happily married for over 18 years and have two dogs & one cat as our fur babies. Jak started really getting into craft beer a few years ago and spent many nights trying to convince me that the beers my daddy drank are not the beers crafted today. Finally I had a sip or two and off I went drinking any stout ,bock, porter or other dark beer I could find . Now, we base our vacations off of what breweries are going to be near where we want to go. Isn’t love grand?!!! The love and care that MHBC put into every batch of their delicious nectar is one of the reasons we continue to come back and sing their praises every chance we get. We love this place and we want you to love it to. We try to make every tour the best tour ever,  one you will  tell your friends about. So come on down don’t be shy let us pour you a beer but watch out Jak is a hugger, especially when he is wearing his PINK HAT! Volunteer Spotlight – Episode 1 – Robs

Robin “Robs” Turner My name is Robin but around the brewery everyone calls me Robs. I started volunteering with MHBC after my bestie boo, Chelsea, told me how much fun it is. I was definitely hesitant due to my lack of beer knowledge, but they quickly taught me! The Martin House brew crew is fantastic people and delicious beers and I wouldn’t change the last year for anything!  If you would like to join our volunteer crew, email:...
